Midori Seiler, Pierre-Antoine Tremblay and Edoardo Torbianelli trace an arc from Clara Schumann’s intimate Romances and Brahms’s celebrated Horn Trio to Carl Reinecke’s rarely performed trios, revealing different facets of Romantic sound culture in a new light.
Natural horn, gut strings and a Bechstein grand piano from 1875 offer an immediate connection to the original sound world in which this music was conceived.
